Yaz Day at Fenway Park

On July 21st, guests took the field for Yaz Day at Fenway Park! Boston legend Carl "Yaz" Yastrzemski and other former Red Sox stars such as Dick Berardino, Ted Lepcio, Jerry Moses and Joe Morgan hosted this special day for young children and the young at heart.  Sponsors of The Genesis Fund and patients from The National Birth Defects Center enjoyed a memorable day of hitting, pitching for speed and accuracy near the bullpens, fielding fly balls off the Green Monster and learning about the life of Fenway Park.

Each year, The Michael Latham award is presented to a patient of the National Birth Defects Center who has exhibited many of the qualities that were present in Michael Latham; confidence, courage, kindness towards others, ability to overcome and accept diversity, and determination to look at life with a sense of humor and optimism. This year's award was presented Tyler.
